I'm stuck in Vera Cruz, Mexico

Hey, its Moriah! Until now, my summer has been super boring, completely consumed with work and school, with some tennis.

Thanks to the Tropical Storm (or is it a hurricane now?) it has gotten more interesting. I planned to sail with my Mom back to Galveston from Vera Cruz because she was in a sailing race! (She won, btw. First in class and fleet! She's awesome.) So me and my best friend Rebekah flew to Vera Cruz to join her crew for the 5 day sail back. But now the storm is preventing us from leaving so I've been stuck in Vera Cruz since Friday. Hopefully we will be leaving tomorrow evening before dark though, but it will be a rough sail because the storm is kind of messing up the wind.

There are definitely worse places to get stuck, though! I have gotten to see a lot of God's wonderful creation! Waterfalls, lagoons, wildlife. I have also gotten to see some cool history because Vera Cruz is very close to where Cortez the conquistador landed. It is also interesting to watch the locals around here. It's weird, they have very few American tourists come here and almost no one speaks English. Its definitely forcing me to brush up on my Spanish!

But that's where I am now. I hope all of y'alls summers are going well! I hope to update again when I get back from the trip. :)
Hey everyone! This is your (half) boss T-Money, and I just wanted to give you all a quick update on my summer. A few things...

NI - The Smartest People EVER Since 1976

I'm working at a company in Austin this summer called National Instruments. I'm working with the Marketing Events team on internal projects such as Bring Your Kids to Work Day and NIWeek (this super-big engineering trade show). I work with a great group of interns, and I think I'm the only intern who shares a cube (well, except for my cube-mate). I'm working full-time, so I keep busy during the week.

May 25 - Why Yes, That is The Coolest Day of the Year

I turned 21 on May 25 (whoo-hoo!), so I'm now officially super-old. Whoo-hoo!

I Don't Sing (Well), But I Have a Friend...

I've been to a few fun shows this summer. The best had to be Passion Pit (seriously, if you've never listened, go check out Sleepyhead right now), but Landon Pigg and Tokyo Police Club were fun also. My buddies in A//B played at Headhunters recently also, so feel free to check out their jams :-)

I'll be at Stubbs again on July 23, so let me know if anyone will be in the area!

Down at the Riverwalk

I went to San Antonio last weekend! I was at Fiesta Texas on Saturday afternoon, Riverwalk on Saturday night, and back to Austin the day after. Quick trip, but very very fun. That was actually my first time at the Riverwalk, and the food was delicious. So good!

Now For Something Completely Different

One of the Camp Birthday counselors has recently learned the following dance (from the kickin' movie, Slumdog Millionaire). Would anyone else be interested in learning it for Ignite Talent Show? My dance lessons with it started today :-)

Did that video embed correctly? If not, check it out here.

That's about all I have - I'll post again when something crazy happens.

I look forward to hearing how everyone's summer is going!

WELCOME!

Hey Camp Birthday! Feel free to post about what you're up to this summer :-)
